Leigh Gettman-Allen: Culturally Relevant, Responsive, and Responsible Writing



Leigh has spoken to thousands of individuals regarding her programs on cultural diversity as an international communication consultant. She currently works as a Professor of Communication at DBU where she has instructed classes of all course levels over the past 20 years. In 2013, she created and wrote Voice and Articulation, an original communication course for DBU’s award-winning, online education department. Most recently, Leigh co-authored the book Oak Cliff: Images of Modern America (published by Arcadia Publishing, 2016).

An accomplished moderator and emcee, Leigh has hosted hundreds of political, charitable, and social events. Leigh and husband Billy reside in Dallas in their 100-year-old Kessler Park home.
