NanoWriMo with DFWWW

Come join DFW Writers Workshop and the Dallas Public Library for National Novel Writing Month.

We're hosting a three-step extravaganza that includes: a kick-off panel, write-ins with published authors who will be available for consultations, and an end-of-season class. You won't regret it!  

  1. Kick Off Event – Oct. 27 - 6:00-7:30 pm- Our fantastic panel of member authors will discuss plotting tips, word count, and writers' block. 
  2. Write In Events – Thursday evenings in November - 6:00-7:30 pm. - Come join us for our weekly NanoWriMo Write-In! We will have member authors available for consultation to help you along with your characters, plot and writing problems.
  3. Closing Ceremonies – Dec. 1st - 6:00 - 7:30 pm - "What's Next?" Class. Join Tex Thompson as she that discusses the next steps after you've finished your first draft. 

Join our presenting authors:

Antonia Williams-Gary has been an opinion columnist for The South Florida Times since 2008; for which she continues to write. She moved to Dallas, Texas four years ago to complete her memoir. She joined the DFW Writers’ Workshop in 2014 to have her manuscript critiqued and supported by that fellowship of writers. Now completed, Antonia has signed a contract with Janell W. Aygeman of Marie Brown and Associates, a nationally based literary agent, and is awaiting a publisher for her work.

Arianne "Tex" Thompson is home-grown Texas success story. After earning a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s in literature, she channeled her passion for exciting, innovative, and inclusive fiction into the Children of the Drought – an internationally-published epic fantasy Western series from Solaris. Brooke Fossey is the President of DFW Writers' Workshop, which boasts a membership of nearly 200 Dallas area authors. She is a proud Tin House Winter Workshop alumna, and is represented by Jeff Kleinman of Folio Literary. You can find her @BAFossey.

Melissa Lenhardt is the author the Jack McBride mystery series, as well as the Laura Elliston historical fiction series. Her debut mystery, STILLWATER, was a finalist for the 2014 Whidbey Writers’ MFA Alumni Emerging Writers Contest, and SAWBONES, her historical fiction debut, was hailed as a "thoroughly original, smart and satisfying hybrid, perhaps a new subgenre: the feminist Western" by Lone Star Literary Life.
