Welcome to a new year with DFW Writers' Workshop!

Pamela Skjolsvik story “In the Pink” is being produced by the DFW Film Lab.
Richard Young was accepted to participate in a Federal program to deliver more efficient healthcare. He was the only physician in Texas asked to participate. Jim Landy interviewed him for an article in the Dallas Morning News.
Rosemary Clement-Moore will be the guest speaker at the Yellow Rose RWA on Saturday January 14th from 10am to 12:00. The meeting is held at the City of Grapevine – Merlot Room, 4500 Merlot Avenue, Grapevine, TX. She will be teaching ‘Method Writing’ which uses actor’s tools to enrich your writing. Carmen Goldthwaite announced Chicken Soup for the Soul is calling out for essays on Hockey, either fans or players. She also announced she has two openings in her class held on Tuesday nights from 7pm to 10pm at her house. See www.carmengoldthwaite.com for more details.

Jason Myers announced three New York Times bestselling authors will teach classes at the upcoming Writers Conference. Only 19 Wednesdays left… DFWCon.org. Tom Gensler is looking for wranglers to assist the agents during their stay. We have twelve agents so far.

Harry Hall announced that he and fellow member John Keith will be taking over the Running Debate in Texas Tri-athlete News magazine. Harry will write the ‘Runner’ side and John will write the ‘Non-runner’ side. Their first column appears in the December issue.
Del Cain is speaking at the Saginaw Public Library on Nov 3rd at 6:30 pm.

Model Marine comes out Nov 1st
Her story in the Spirited Anthology is coming out soon. Proceeds go to a literacy charity
George Goldthwaite heard from Books in Motion. Recording has begun on his newest audio book.
Susan Clark has volunteered to Chair the Building Search Committee. If you hear of any vacancies in the HEB area, email info to [email protected]
Halloween Read is October 26th – bring a dish; come in costume!

Donna announced that Susan Clark, chairperson of the Building Search Committee, needs assistance. If you live in the HEB area and notice a commercial building for lease or sale, jot down the information and send it to Susan Clark. She will handle it from there.
Katy Roberts volunteered to be the Election Coordinator. She is looking for three ballot counters.
