Time's Running Out: Nominations End Next Wednesday for 2011 Board of Directors
Chilly winds that howled like banshees failed to scare away dedicated DFWWW members from the November 17 meeting.
In the news, A. Lee Martinez displayed the spring/summer 2011 catalog from Orbit Books which has a full-page ad for his upcoming novel Chasing the Moon. Jimmie Kepler announced that Poetry & Prose ezine invited him to submit more of his poems. Kenneth Ingle had a successful book signing this last weekend at a local arts and crafts fair. Speaking of book signings, Mike McMullen has two of them this weekend for his recent nonfiction release I, Superhero. The first is on Saturday, November 20, at 1 p.m. at Barnes & Noble in Dallas at Interstate 75 and Northwest Highway; and the second is on Sunday, November 21, at noon at Barnes & Noble in Las Colinas.

Rosemary Clement-Moore has a book signing this Saturday, May 22 at the Hurst Barnes & Noble at 2 p.m. for the paperback release of her Young Adult novel Highway to Hell.
Speaking of books, Carolyn reminds all Workshop members they may check out the reference books for three weeks. After that, there is a twenty-five cents fine for each week the books are overdue. There are several books outstanding and members will be contacted soon if they don't return them.

An Honored Guest, a Book Signing & a Stage Play Commission Top News

Georgette Radford, Community Relations Manager of the Hurst Barnes & Noble bookstore, stopped in for a visit. Georgette is an honored friend of the Workshop and always willing to schedule our authors for book signings. Everyone was happy to see her.
Speaking of book signings, Mary Malcolm will hold one this Saturday, February 27 at 2 p.m. at the Hurst Barnes & Noble for her romance Diner Girl. Mike McMullen received a request for the full manuscript of his children's book The Adventure of Grant Galapagos, Boy Adventurer. Anne Perry has been commissioned to write an as-of-yet unnamed play to celebrate the Town of Eliot, Maine's 200th anniversary.

Ingle's publisher has commissioned him to writer a thriller, and he has a book signing for his first release, First Contact, Saturday, September 26 at the University of Texas at Arlington bookstore.
On Saturday, September 12, Candace Havens will teach two classes at the Heart of Texas Chapter of Romance Writers of America in Waco. Kyle White announced he's been selected to teach a class at next year's Books, Authors n' All that Jazz festival in Weatherford. Rosemary Clement-Moore's book, The Splendor Falls, arrived on shelves Tuesday, September 8, and the paperback version of her earlier work, Hell Week, is now out.
Finally, five new reference books were added to the DFWWW library. Members were reminded to take advantage of the many titles available to help them learn more about the craft of writing.
