Get Paid to Promote the 2010 DFW Writers' Conference & Other Workshop News

As with any non-profit organization, volunteerism plays an important role in the success of the DFW Writers' Workshop. This spirit of giving was evident during the September 2nd business meeting.

Volunteers stepped up to be the chairpersons of the 2011 through 2013 writers' conferences, making it easier to start planning those events now. While the 2010 conference board has already been hard at work, the members were officially named. The Trophy Room got a little more crowded as the 292 traditionally published novel was donated. At this pace, can the landmark 300 book be far off?

In other news, Candace Havens announced that her newest manuscript, Take Me if You Dare, has been accepted by Harlequin Blaze, and is scheduled for a February 1, 2010 release. Rosemary Clement-Moore has a book signing for her newest release, The Splendor Falls, Saturday, September 12 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Hurst, Texas Barnes & Noble. She also announced that she has been elected president of the Young Adult chapter of the local Romance Writers of America.

Finally, how would you like to get paid to help promote the upcoming DFW Writers' Conference, April 10 - 11, 2010? Anyone who becomes an affiliate of the conference can earn $10 for every person who registers to attend. You do not have to be a DFW Writers' Workshop member to participate. It's an easy way to make extra money for your writers' group, library, or just for yourself. Details.
